about the plants back to main H. 'Xanadu Paisley ('00)
Originator's Stock, multi-eyed divisions, $145.00
This is a very unusual sport out of H. 'August Moon'. Same size, bloom time and garden habit. The background leaf color is the same gold. The pattern of variegation is extremely variable and has been the object of much discussion. This plant has been tested twice and been found virus/pathogen free twice. Although very vigorous, X. Paisley may be a challenge to the novice. The variegation will persist all season long, but fade in too much sun. It should be planted where it gets good early season sun then high shade to dappled sun the remainder of the season. Truly a collectors hosta! H. 'Xanadu Virginia Mary' (NR)
Originator's Stock, multi-eyed divisions, $110.00
This is a green/white/occasional gold streaked six-inch tall x five-inch wide upright plant with mid-season purple flowers on a sixteen-inch scape. A found seedling of unknown parentage, it has proven itself an excellent breeder, with a very high perecentage of streaked scapes and excellent streaked seedling production, even in years that seed set is a problem with other hostas. It's greatest value is the vast variety of it's seedling forms. Branched scape, center and edge variegated, dwarfs. XVM has failed to variegate in tissue culture, only OS is or will be available. to brian & virginia’s gallery H. 'Xanadu Dlanor' (NR)
H. ' Xanadu Dlanor ' is a sport out of H. 'Little Aurora' and it demonstrates the same good vigor and garden worthiness. It is unlike (and unrelated to) H. 'Tattoo', in that the coloration is reversed, with 'Xanadu Dlanor' having margins which are lighter and the center darker.
'Xanadu Dlanor' will be registered this year and anticipate limited availability in 2004. H. 'Xanadu Amora' (NR)
